1000 Islands Lake Protective Development Plan

Located along the banks of Qian Dao Hu (1000 Islands Lake), this planned development will include 240 dwelling units. The site is remarkable, with beautiful views from many vantage points. Bamboo, pine, yao mei, terraces, and cisterns compose the landscape. The goal of this environmentally sensitive development is to provide modern dwelling in hamlet-like groupings that enhance the experience of its beautiful site. The building design is intended to combine careful considerations of energy conservation and modern construction with an admiration for techniques and materials local to the area, as well as the traditions of dwelling and garden-making fundamental to Chinese thought and architecture.
